IND vs PAK | Twitter reacts as Bumrah avenges raucous Rauf with broken stumps and plane crash celebration

Whether politics should get mixed with sports is a debate as old as time, and one India-Pakistan cannot settle on decade after decade. Haris Rauf carried on the tradition in the Asia Cup with controversial gestures and words, but Jasprit Bumrah made sure the pacer got a taste of his own mediicine.

‌Pakistan threw away a brilliant start with the bat in the Asia Cup Final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday as they crashed and burned to 146-all out despite being well placed at 113/1 with more than six overs to go. Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman laid the foundation up-top with encouraging knocks of 57 and 46 respectively, but Indian spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakaravarthy undid all their hard work by combining for eight wickets. Jasprit Bumrah added the cherry on top by scalping the two that remained, beginning with Haris Rauf's wicket, and did not hold back with celebrations to spark even more controversy in an already tense affair.

Rauf had come under the scanner after the Super Four clash between the two sides where he had celebrated a wicket by mimicing a crashing plane, an apparent reference to the recent military skirmish between India and Pakistan. The speedster had also been recorded chanting 6-0 at training sessions ahead of the game along similar notes, and once he edged the first delivery off Bumrah for four, the nerves in the stadium were palpable. However, it took the Indian ace just three more deliveries to send the bails flying with a trademark unplayable yorker to send Rauf trotting back to the dugout. After a relatively unsuccesful tournament, Bumrah had clearly bee waiting for his moment and he wasted no time in capitalizing by copying Rauf's airplane celebration, before sending Mohammad Nawaz packing too in the final over.

Twitterati was all for it.

Giving it back!
