India A and Australia A will take on each other in the first unofficial ODI of the three-match ODI series, at the Green Park in Kanpur on September 30. Shreyas Iyer-led India A will look forward to gain a lead by 1-0 with a win in the series opener, after their side’s success in unofficial Tests.
India A enjoyed a brilliant run in their last five unofficial ODIs, with four wins and a defeat in their previous fixture against Pakistan A. Before that, they registered four consecutive. They will be playing in the unofficial ODIs after a long wait of two and a half years, so they will be eyeing to continue their winning run in the official ODIs. Besides that, with a win in the first unofficial ODI, they will also aim to repeat their success in the recently concluded unofficial Test series.
On the other hand, Australia A have also enjoyed the same kind of form earlier this year against New Zealand A and Sri Lanka A. They have won four games, while losing only one in their last five unofficial ODI games. They are coming off a seven-wicket win against Sri Lanka, following a 51-run defeat. Before that, they secured three successive wins in three games. The Aussies will also aim to start the unofficial ODI series on a winning note, with a win in the opener.
