Nepal and West Indies will be battling it out in the second T20I in Sharjah on September 29. While Nepal will be looking to win their first series against a Test-playing nation, the Caribbean Giants will be looking to avoid another upset and level the series in the do-or-die game on Monday.

‌The second T20I between West Indies and Nepal is set to be hosted by the Sharjah Cricket Stadium once again, and it is set to be another exciting fixture where Nepal will be looking to claim their first series win against a Test-playing nation, and the Caribbean Giants will be looking to keep the series alive and hope to avoid another upset which took place on Saturday.

While the series is in an interesting phase, with Nepal having stunned the Windies in the last game, where almost all their players had made a vital contribution to take the team to a defendable score and defend it in the second innings. However, Rohit Paudel and his men will be hoping they recreate the same performance as the first game and claim the series. Though there will be a lot of pressure on Paudel going into the match, the same could also be said for Akeal Hosein, who will want to make a comeback after the disappointing result. The 32-year-old bowling all-rounder would want to bounce back and prove himself as a leader in the last two games of his first series as West Indies captain. This makes this an exciting battle between two skippers, where one is looking to create history while the other will be looking to avoid another disastrous result.

Form Guide

Though Nepal might not be a high-ranking side in international cricket, their recent form in T20 cricket has been decent. However, they have shown inconsistency in the clutch matches, having failed to win the finals of the quadrangular series in Hong Kong and the tri series in Scotland in their previous two ventures.

West Indies, on the other hand, have been having a terrible run in T20I so far, having won their last T20I series in June against Ireland. They have faced disappointing losses against Australia and Pakistan, and have only won a solitary game in the last five games they have played.

Nepal vs West Indies Head-to-Head in T20s

The upcoming game will be the second game between Nepal and West Indies, with the Associate nation holding a 1-0 lead in the format.

Nepal 1 - 0 West Indies

Pitch and Weather

The surface at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium has been slow and dry in recent games. The pitch assists the spinners who have been getting a lot of grip and turn in the middle overs, and scores of 160 have been tough to chase down.  Batting first should be the ideal choice on this wicket, as the team defending a score has won 31 off the 49 games at the venue.

The expected temperature in Sharjah is 36 degrees Celsius and the weather should remain clear throughout the game.

Team News

Nepal are not expected to make any changes to their lineup after their historic win in the first game of the series.

West Indies might make two changes within their team by bringing in bowling  Shamar Springer in place of Ramon Simmons, who had an average outing in the first game, and all-rounder Karima Gore in place of Jewel Andrew, which will add a little bit of depth in their batting and bowling department.

Nepal Probable XI: Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh (wk), Rohit Paudel (c), Sundeep Jora, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Malla, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Lalit Rajbanshi.
