Tamil Thalaivas released captain and star raider Pawan Sehrawat mid-season of PKL 12 due to disciplinary reasons. Sehrawat, who joined the team for Rs 59.5 lakh from Telugu Titans, played three matches scoring 22 raid points with one super raid but no Super 10s. PKL rules do not allow mid-season transfers, so he cannot join another team this season.

As the Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) progresses, Tamil Thalaivas made a shocking move by sending their star raider and captain, Pawan Sehrawat, home mid-season due to disciplinary reasons. The decision came after he was left out of the team’s fourth match and did not travel with the squad for the second leg in Jaipur. The franchise clarified that Pawan was “sent home” and not formally released, meaning he remains under contract and cannot join another team for the rest of the season.

PKL rules do not allow mid-season transfers, as the league follows strict auction and retention policies without a transfer window. Pawan Sehrawat responded emotionally on social media, denying the allegations and implying that a “particular individual” was responsible. He asserted his awareness of discipline as the Indian team captain and stated he would quit kabaddi if the claims against him were proven.

Pawan had joined Tamil Thalaivas for Rs 59.5 lakh from Telugu Titans and had scored 22 raid points in three matches, including one super raid but no Super 10s. His departure leaves a significant gap for the team in PKL 12, both in leadership and scoring ability. Given the circumstances, his season in the league is effectively over.
