After the arrival of Noah Okafor from AC Milan, Leeds United have made headlines in the transfer market and pushed the English Premier League’s summer spending to a record high. The 25-year-old Swiss forward joins Daniel Farke’s side on a four-year deal reportedly worth £18 million, becoming the Whites’ ninth signing of the summer following the acquisition of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
His addition has taken total Premier League spending for the window to £2.37 billion, narrowly surpassing the previous record of £2.36 billion set in 2023. Okafor began his career at FC Basel, where his pace and finishing ability earned him the Swiss Super League Young Player of the Year award. He then moved to Red Bull Salzburg, recording more than 100 appearances and 57 goal contributions, including six goals in the UEFA Champions League.
Milan secured his services in 2023, but after limited opportunities, he was loaned to Napoli for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. Excited about his move to England, Okafor described playing in the Premier League as a childhood dream, adding that the league’s intensity suits his style. Leeds fans may not have to wait long to see him in action, as he could debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
