Real Madrid are reportedly exploring a swap deal involving Vinicius Junior to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. With Vinicius struggling for form, demanding high wages, and having only two years left on his contract, Florentino Perez sees him as a bargaining chip. Madrid aims to pair Haaland with Mbappe, while City could value Vinicius’ attacking qualities.

For the Spanish giants Real Madrid, the pursuit of Erling Haaland has once again taken center stage, with reports suggesting that Vinicius Junior could be included in a sensational swap deal. According to Fichajes, club president Florentino Perez is considering offering the Brazilian winger to Manchester City in order to bring the Norwegian striker to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vinicius, who has struggled to replicate his explosive form after his Ballon d’Or snub, has seen a dip in his attacking output despite showing improvement in defensive work under Xabi Alonso. Adding to the uncertainty, his contract situation remains unresolved, with only two years left and wage demands that Los Blancos are reluctant to meet. Haaland, on the other hand, has been prolific since joining Manchester City in 2022 and is currently tied to a long-term contract until 2034.

However, the forward has long harboured a desire to play for Real Madrid, which could make the move tempting for him. Perez dreams of pairing Haaland with Kylian Mbappe to dominate European football over the next decade. City could also benefit from the deal, as Pep Guardiola would gain a world-class winger in Vinicius, whose pace and dribbling ability could add fresh dynamism to his attack.
