Arsenal are nearing a £55m deal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, with terms agreed but completion delayed until Palace find a replacement. They have also made a £45m offer for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, who is pushing for an exit. Inter, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also interested in Lookman.
After the completion of six summer signings, Arsenal are reportedly closing in on two more major transfers to strengthen their title push. The Gunners have already secured Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres, but Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta remain keen on adding a left-sided attacker and a playmaker. Reports claim Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is close to joining for €63.5 million (£55 million), with £30 million paid upfront.
While financial terms are agreed, the deal is delayed as Palace want a replacement and are yet to appoint a new sporting director. Meanwhile, Arsenal have also made a £45 million offer for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, who is seeking a move amid interest from Inter Milan, Napoli and Atletico Madrid.
Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has cautioned Eze about the move, suggesting fierce competition could limit his game time compared to the freedom he enjoys at Palace. Arsenal’s transfer business may still hinge on offloading players like Fabio Vieira, Sambi Lokonga, Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko before the window closes, but the push for Eze and Lookman signals an aggressive finish to their summer recruitment.
