Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 25th minute, setting the tone for the match. In the second half, Tijani Reijnders struck twice, first in the 59th minute from Sávio’s assist, then in the 82nd minute with help from Divine Mukasa, sealing the win. Pep Guardiola made multiple substitutions, including replacing Haaland with Mukasa at the hour mark.

Palermo coach Filippo Inzaghi also introduced several players after the break in an attempt to shift momentum. Discipline-wise, Palermo committed 13 fouls and saw Emmanuel Gyasi booked in the 68th minute, while City committed 10 fouls without receiving any cards. Palermo had four offsides and four corners, compared to City’s three corners and no offsides. The result reflected City’s tactical control and clinical finishing.
