U Mumba has started PKL 2025 impressively, winning four of six games to sit third in the standings. Their success stems from cohesive team play and a solid defence, with Lokesh Ghosliya leading in tackles and Super Tackles. Key raiders Ajit Chouhan and Aanil Mohan have delivered consistently, combining youth and experience to keep U Mumba in title contention.
As the 2025 PKL season unfolds, U Mumba has made an impressive start, showing early signs of being a strong title contender. Retaining most of their core squad from last season, under coach Anil Chaprana, the team has built a cohesive unit that blends experience and youth effectively. After the Visakhapatnam leg, U Mumba sits third in the standings with four wins from six games, demonstrating consistency from key players.
The team’s strength lies in its defense, with only one player each in the top tier for raid points and tackle points, highlighting a collective effort rather than reliance on individual stars. Sunil Kumar leads the side confidently, supported by top defenders Lokesh Ghosliya, Parvesh Bhainswal, and Rinku Sharma. U Mumba has also excelled in Super Tackles, registering 14 in six games, five more than the next best team, Telugu Titans.
The raiding unit has been rejuvenated by newcomers Ajit Chouhan, Amirmohammed Zafardanish, and standout Aanil Mohan, whose 23 raid points and impactful performances have justified his Rs. 78 lakh price tag. U Mumba’s blend of experienced campaigners and energetic youngsters, coupled with solid defensive strategies, positions them well for the challenges ahead, including the crucial Maharashtra Derby against Puneri Paltan in Jaipur.
