Juventus shared an eight-goal spectacle with Borussia Dortmund, all scored in the second half. Trailing 4-2 late on, Dusan Vlahovic struck his second in stoppage time before turning provider for Lloyd Kelly, who headed home the equaliser. Vlahovic’s brace and Kelly’s dramatic finish ensured Juventus salvaged a vital point in a breathtaking Champions League opener.

Being the highlight of the Champions League opening night, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund produced a breathtaking 4-4 draw in Turin, with all eight goals coming in the second half. After a cagey first half, Dortmund struck first in the 53rd minute when Karim Adeyemi’s long-range strike found the corner. Juventus responded through Kenan Yildiz in the 63rd minute, but Dortmund quickly regained the lead with Felix Nmecha’s strike two minutes later.

The rollercoaster continued as Dusan Vlahovic equalised in the 68th minute, calmly finishing past Gregor Kobel. Dortmund then went 3-2 ahead when Yan Couto’s low drive beat Michele Di Gregorio in the 74th minute, before Ramy Bensebaini converted a penalty in the 86th minute after Lloyd Kelly’s handball, putting the visitors 4-2 up. Just when Dortmund thought victory was secured, Juventus mounted a stunning stoppage-time comeback.

Vlahovic netted his second in the 94th minute, and moments later turned provider with a cross that Kelly headed in for the equaliser in the 96th minute. Vlahovic, who finished with two goals and an assist, said after the match that his hunger for more remains, but the key was avoiding defeat. The game will be remembered as one of the most dramatic Champions League group-stage thrillers.
