If the deal goes through, Juventus may push for Edon Zhegrova despite Marseille’s interest.
When the transfer window entered its final stretch, Juventus moved closer to offloading Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez to Atletico Madrid. Reports from Argentina and Italy confirm that the two clubs are finalizing a deal structured as a loan with an option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain sporting conditions are achieved, for a fee of around €35 million. The move comes after weeks of negotiations, with Gonzalez not fitting into new coach Igor Tudor’s plans in Turin.
An earlier idea of including Atletico defender Nahuel Molina in a swap deal has been dropped due to time constraints before the deadline. Juventus had originally secured Gonzalez from Fiorentina in 2024 for €8.4 million on loan, followed by an obligation to purchase for €28.1 million plus add-ons this summer. Despite the significant outlay, Gonzalez’s impact at the club was limited.
The 27-year-old managed just 39 competitive appearances for the Bianconeri, contributing five goals and four assists across all competitions. If the deal goes through, Juventus are expected to make a late move for LOSC Lille winger Edon Zhegrova, although they face competition from Marseille. The final hours of the market could therefore bring a busy finish for the Turin giants.
