Marcus Rashford Joins Barcelona on Loan, Bids Classy Farewell to Manchester United

As the 2025-26 season approaches, Marcus Rashford has completed a season-long loan move to FC Barcelona from Manchester United. During his unveiling in Spain, the 26-year-old forward remained respectful about his former club, stating that United is undergoing a period of change that seemingly did not include him in future plans. Rashford, who debuted for United in 2016 and spent nearly a decade at Old Trafford, expressed gratitude for the role the club played in his career and life.

He avoided controversy when asked about Gary Lineker’s comments suggesting United, not Rashford, was the problem. Rashford emphasised that his focus now lies with Barcelona and helping the team win trophies. Choosing the No. 14 jersey, once worn by his idol Thierry Henry and he hopes to follow in the footsteps of English legends like Lineker, who previously played for the Catalan side.
