For the team at Arsenal, the summer transfer window is shaping up to be crucial with a triple boost in their pursuit of a top striker. Mikel Arteta is targeting Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Hugo Ekitike to strengthen his attack, and recent developments have made all three more accessible.
Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, who netted 54 goals last season, including six in the Champions League, was previously valued at £85 million. However, Sporting’s president has now confirmed the club will not insist on the full release clause, opening the door for negotiations.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Arteta’s preferred target, also seems to be available at a reduced price. Initially priced between £68 million and £85 million, Leipzig could now settle for £59.7 million. The 22-year-old scored 21 goals in all competitions and is considered a top prospect from the Bundesliga.
Hugo Ekitike, who bagged 22 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt, is another exciting option. Frankfurt are preparing to replace him with Union SG striker Franjo Ivanovic for £25.6 million. While Ekitike’s valuation remains high at £85 million, his expected departure this summer has intensified interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, and other Premier League clubs.
