Over the past few months, a cricket couple has been in the spotlight, and it is none other than Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma. Both of them are now officially divorced. that the divorce between them took place on mutual terms, but there is a lot more to it.
Currently, Dhanashree Verma is a participant in the Rise and Fall reality show. Having a conversation with Kubbra Sait at the table, she talked about her past with Chahal and how things went wrong. To this, she also revealed that she caught Chahal cheating in the second month of their marriage.
1. Chahal Speaks on Divorce
Yuzvendra Chahal also participated in various interviews where he was asked about the relationship between him and Dhanashree. Talking about the reason behind their separation, Chahal said that it was mainly due to the lack of time they spent with each other. that both of them had different careers, making it difficult to proceed.
Making some shocking claims on his side, Chahal claimed that he went through depression. Lack of sleep was another problem for him these days, as he struggled to sleep for even two hours. These claims from the former Indian cricketer had shocked the fans.
But things between Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were strained for a long time. Both of them had separated a long time before their actual divorce took place. Fans started to notice things go bad between them when Dhanashree Verma removed all her posts with Chahal .
Several fans also think that the allegations made by Chahal that he went through depression were fake. A few weeks after his statement, Chahal was spotted in the India vs New Zealand final clash in the Champions Trophy 2025. Chahal was spotted in the stands with RJ Mahavesh, and the camera caught both of them sitting together.
When Chahal and Dhanashree filed a divorce plea in February 2025, they successfully completed the divorce on 20 March 2025. On the final date of the hearing, Chahal wearing a t-shirt which said, “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.”
The media reporters asked him about his shirt and why he wore it on the final date of the hearing. But Chahal was least bothered by the same, and he said that he wore it for someone to indirectly convey his message to them. Several fans think that he wore the shirt to convey the message to Dhanashree.
2. Negative PR Targeting Dhanashree?
Dhanashree has alleged that various PR stunts have taken place against her to put Chahal in a positive light. She revealed that after the final hearing of their divorce took place, she was crying a lot in the courtroom. But on the other hand, Chahal looked unbothered and seemed as if he never cared about her.
She also said that the t-shirt which was worn by Chahal on the final day of the hearing was insensitive. Verma alleged that Chahal could have conveyed the message to her through WhatsApp. But wearing such t-shirts in public at the time of the final hearing was humiliating for her.
Later in several interviews, too, Dhanashree Verma revealed that no matter what she did, she received negativity from the media. To this, she indirectly blamed Chahal for putting negative PR stunts against her. With Chahal wearing the shirt during his public appearance, that it had harmed her right to privacy.
Such actions of Chahal, combined with the cheating allegations, come as a serious issue. He surely did make a public appearance wearing the controversial t-shirt, but whether he was cheating on Dhanashree with someone in their first two months of marriage, it still remains to be answered.
