IND vs SL | Twitter on its feet as India continue their unbeaten streak ahead of finals with super over win against Sri lanka

Though it was a big total on the board, the Lankan Lions did not have the best of starts as Kusal Mendis was dismissed in the first over after giving a simple catch to Shubman Gill in the slips. However, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera made sure the runs came in the next five overs and finished the powerplay on a score of 72/1. The two batters continued to wreak havoc after the power play as Nissanka and Perrera completed their half-centuries and put on 127 runs for the second wicket. Though Perera was eventually dismissed in the 13th over on a score of 58, the Lions were in a strong position with the score reading 136/2, needing 67 off 42 deliveries. However, as things started to look comfortable, Nissanka was running out of partners as Asalanka and Kamindu Mendis were dismissed cheaply. The couple of wickets got the game in a tight position as the Lankans needed 33 off the last 18 deliveries, and Nissanka reached his century in 52 balls. Nissanka along with a bit of support from Shanaka, brought the game as deep as possible with 12 runs needed off the final over. The final over was bowled by Harshit Rana who had gone for plenty of runs in his first three overs. However, he managed to make a comeback as he dismissed Nissanka on the first delivery on a score of 107 as he flicked the ball straight into the hands of fine leg. The right arm quick kept his nerve in the next three deliveries as well and brought the equation down to 7 off just two deliveries until Shanka managed to get a boundary of the penultimate ball. With three needed off the last delivery, Shanaka had mistimed the ball as it trickled towards the mid-wicket fielder. Though the Lankans got the chance to end the game as the fielder and the bowler had fumbled the ball, the poor running between Shanaka and Janith Liyanage ensured that they only settled for two as the game went into a super over. 

Though the tight battle was expected to continue, Arshdeep Singh kept his nerves and got the wicket of Perera on the first delivery, and only gave one run in the first three deliveries. Though there was some drama on the fourth delivery with Shanaka's run out being withdrawn since an appeal was made for a caught behind, the Lion could only manage three runs in the end as he was dismissed on the fifth ball of the over. In the end, India finished the game on the first ball as Surya punched the ball past the extra cover fielder and kept the Men in Blue's unbeaten run in the tournament alive.
