IND vs BAN | Twitter in disbelief as Sanju sends teammates away before dropping sitter

Wicketkeepers often go for high catches near the wickets because of their big gloves, but Sanju Samson got it awfully wrong during India’s Super Four game against Bangladesh in Asia Cup T20 2025. The wicketkeeper sent away his teammates as he shouted for a high catch before making a mess of it.

‌Abhishek Sharma’s blitzkrieg powered India to 168/6 after being put in against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup T20 2025 Super Four game in Dubai. Though he smashed five sixes and six fours during his 37-ball 75, the Indian middle order collapsed to finish way below the 200-run mark.

In reply, Bangladesh showed intent after losing opener Tanzid Hasan in the second over to complete the powerplay at 44/1. But once Parvez Hossain Emon and Saif Hassan’s partnership was broken, the Tigers lost their way, giving away wickets at frequent intervals.

Saif Hassan continued a lone battle as he took on the Indian spinners and completed his fifty in 36 balls with a six off Axar Patel. But the batter was living a charmed life with the left-arm spinner dropping him early in the innings.

With 61 runs required from the last five overs, the opener extended his lucky stay with Shivam Dube dropping him on the first ball of Varun Chakravarthy’s last over. Two balls later, Hassan was again put down by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson.

Hassan miscued while trying to send a length ball outside off-stump for a maximum as the ball went straight up. Samson was quick to react and shouted his lungs out to send the teammates away. But he horrifically misjudged it as the ball evaded his gloves and went to ground.

Twitter was in disbelief as Samson made a meal of a straightforward chance, as Varun was frustrated with a second chance being put down in the same over.

That was supposed to be taken bruh!
