IND vs OMA | Twitter in splits as Kuldeep literally takes matter into own hands by bullying SKY into wasting review

SportsCafe Desk

The DRS is a tool that has been used smartly in a game of cricket, but there are moments where the players waste a review due to the desperation of a wicket. Kuldeep Yadav was one of these desperate bowlers who forced his skipper to waste a review in the Asia Cup match against Oman.

Kuldeep despeartion costs India a review
โ€ŒThe Men in Blue finished the first innings on a competitive score of 188/8 in the last league game before the super fours against Oman. Though the target was big enough to put any team under pressure, Oman's openers, Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem, managed to play out the pacers and finished the power play on a decent score of 44/0. As the two openers started to look good at the crease, the Indian team was desperate for their first wicket, and sometimes the desperation could lead to terrible decisions.
One such example of desperation was witnessed in the ninth over, which was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm wrist spinner started with a well-disguised wrong-un, which rapped Aamir Kaleem on the pads, and Kuldeep gave a loud appeal, which was turned down by the umpire. However, Kuldeep believed that the ball was hitting the stumps and forced India skipper Suryakumar Yadav by grabbing his hands and signalling for a DRS. Unfortunately, the DRS showed that the impact outside off-stump also resulted in the Indians wasting a review in the end.
What was Kuldeep thinking?
