East Delhi Riders eye top spot in table with win against PD6

East Delhi Riders are set to take on Purani Delhi 6 in the 27th game of the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, August 19. The Riders will aim to move to the top spot in the tournament’s point table with a win in this game against Purani Delhi 6.

East Delhi Riders started their campaign with a five-wicket win against the South Delhi Superstarz in their first match of the DPL 2025 campaign. It was followed by a big seven-wicket defeat against the West Delhi Lions in their second game. However, they made a strong comeback with two consecutive wins against New Delhi Tigers and Outer Delhi Warriors by the margins of seven and five wickets, respectively. Later, the fifth game of their campaign and the second game against the Superstarz was abandoned due to rain. In their repeat clash against the West Delhi Lions, the Riders won again but this time, by a narrow margin of just two runs in a thrilling encounter. In their previous game, the Riders defeated Purani Delhi 6 by five wickets. Speaking of Vansh Bedi’s Purani Delhi 6, they faced a massive 82-run defeat against the Outer Delhi Warriors in their campaign opener. Following this defeat, PD6 registered two straight wins against the West Delhi Lions and New Delhi Tigers by the margins of 15 and 10 runs, respectively. But Purani Delhi 6’s campaign faced a big blow as they lost three matches in a row against the Strikers, Riders, and the Superstarz. So, it will be a must-win game for them to stay alive in contention for the tournament’s playoff stage.
