IPKL 2019 | Pune Pride start campaign on a winning note against Haryana Heroes

Pune Pride have started their campaign with a brilliant win against Haryana Heroes in the first edition of the Indo-International Premier Kabaddi League on Monday. The hosts got the better of the Haryana-based team by 43-34 points at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi, Pune.

The Indo-International Premier Kabaddi League has got off to a great start in Pune as the home team has registered an emphatic 43-34 win against Haryana Heroes in the inaugural game. Skipper Abdul Sheikh put up a stunning show for the hosts as he scored a total of 18 raid points in the match and was also awarded the Star of the Match. 

Pune performed exceedingly well in the match as Jitendra Yadav was the other star for the team and he starred in the defence with a total of 12 tackles. Yadav also managed to score five raid points in the match and performed his duty as an all-rounder to maximum effect. Vikas Khatri and Akshy Bodake had 11 tackles, eight raid points and 12 tackles to their names respectively for the team from Haryana.

The first edition of the league was inaugurated yesterday after a glittering opening ceremony in Pune. A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament which will be played in three legs in Pune, Mysore and Bengaluru with the finals scheduled to be held in Bengaluru.

The very first match of the Indo International Premier Kabaddi League would see Haryana Heroes taking on Pune Pride on Monday, May 13. As per the official release by the league, the winner of the side would win a massive Rs 1.25 crores as the runners up would get Rs. 75 lakhs.
