Erling Haaland needed three stitches after being struck in the face by the Norway team bus door ahead of their Moldova clash. Despite netting five goals in an 11-1 win, he suffered a cut mouth requiring medical attention. The striker later joked on social media about the bizarre incident but remained fit for Manchester City’s derby.

As the Manchester derby approaches, Erling Haaland is recovering from a bizarre injury sustained during Norway’s recent international duty. The Manchester City striker, who has already scored three goals this season, suffered a cut to his face requiring three stitches after being struck by the door of the Norway team bus. The incident occurred when Haaland was descending the bus stairs at the team hotel before Norway’s 11-1 victory over Moldova, a match in which he impressively scored five goals.

The door of the luggage compartment unexpectedly hit him in the face, leaving Haaland with a bleeding mouth. He was quickly assisted by Norway’s team doctor Ola Sand and senior security advisor Geir Ellefsen, who took him inside the hotel for treatment. A dentist also checked the injury to ensure there were no further complications.

Haaland later shared a photo of the wound on social media, joking about the incident and confirming the three stitches he received. Team-mate Martin Odegaard described the injury as unusual and painful but confirmed Haaland appeared to be recovering well. Despite the freak accident, Haaland remains in good form.
