Frank Lampard criticised Norwich’s time wasting after Coventry’s 1-1 Championship draw. Mathias Kvistgaarden gave Norwich the lead before Haji Wright equalised in the 96th minute. Lampard praised Coventry’s display, citing 28 shots, possession control, and higher expected goals, stressing his side deserved at least a point against a strong Norwich team.

As the Championship clash between Coventry City and Norwich City ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw, Frank Lampard expressed frustration at what he saw as Norwich’s persistent time-wasting tactics. Norwich appeared on course for a smash-and-grab victory after Mathias Kvistgaarden’s first-half strike put them ahead, and the Canaries defended resolutely despite constant Coventry pressure. Goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic and defender Kellen Fisher were both booked for time delays before the break, with further stoppages disrupting play in the second half.

Lampard’s side, however, refused to lose composure and kept pressing until Haji Wright’s 96th-minute equaliser finally broke Norwich’s resistance. Coventry dominated much of the contest, recording 28 shots, the majority of possession, and a significantly higher expected goals tally. Lampard praised his players for their persistence and attacking structure, insisting the performance reflected the style of play he wants to build.

While acknowledging Norwich’s defensive resilience and quality as one of the stronger teams in the league, Lampard was adamant his team did enough to win, calling the draw the “least we deserved.” Despite disappointment at not taking all three points, he stressed confidence that Coventry will turn such dominance into victories more often if they maintain the same intensity.
