As the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 17-H: $10,300 Super Tuesday High Roller reached its climax, it featured a stacked final table with some of the biggest names in online poker. Among them was Brazilian football icon and PokerStars Ambassador Neymar Jr., who came in as the shortest stack. Although he regularly competes in high-stakes tournaments, Neymar’s bid for a first WCOOP title ended quickly when his two pair lost to Talal 'raidalot' Shakerchi’s nut flush.
His run lasted just a few minutes, but he still secured $26,111 for finishing seventh, turning a small profit after firing two entries. The action moved swiftly as Ole 'wizowizo' Schemion, Pedro 'PaDiLhA SP' Padilha, Linus 'LLinusLLove' Loeliger, and 'Jepser8' exited in succession. This left Shakerchi and Canada’s Guillaume 'Nolet20' Nolet to battle for the championship.
After nearly four hours of heads-up play, Nolet prevailed, clinching the title and the top prize of $186,434. Shakerchi had to settle for $134,351. Other notable payouts included 'Jepser8' with $96,818, Loeliger with $69,771, Padilha with $50,279, and Schemion with $36,233. Running through October 1, WCOOP continues to deliver dramatic moments, with Neymar’s appearance adding star power to an already elite event.
