Arsenal are leading the chase for Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller after Manchester United’s failed attempt to activate a £27.8m clause. The 24-year-old, valued at £52m, has five goals and 18 assists in 85 games since 2023, including 11 assists last season. Known for averaging 9.72 progressive passes per game, Stiller is also admired by Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

In the latest transfer developments, Arsenal have reportedly moved ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, valued at £52m. The 24-year-old German international has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga, contributing five goals and 18 assists in 85 matches since joining Stuttgart on a free transfer in 2023. Last season alone, he recorded 11 assists, catching the eye of both club and country, with Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann rewarding him with five senior caps.

United attempted to activate a £27.8m release clause in Stiller’s contract, but the move failed due to timing restrictions and the player’s lack of interest in a switch to Old Trafford. This has left Arsenal, under Mikel Arteta, in pole position, although Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also remain interested. Stiller’s appeal lies in his exceptional ball progression, averaging 9.72 progressive passes and nearly nine passes into the final third per game, ranking among the top 2% of midfielders in Europe’s top leagues.

He also creates 3.88 shot-creating actions per match, highlighting his attacking influence. While Liverpool are monitoring him due to uncertainty around Wataru Endo and Stefan Bajcetic, Stiller is reportedly drawn to Arsenal’s project and Arteta’s trust in young talent.
