The venue for the third ODI of India Women's upcoming tour of Australia has been shifted from Melbourne to Hobart due to the delay in the installation of floodlights at the Junction Oval and the tight schedule of the series. CA's head of cricket operations has also opened up on the technical issue.

The third ODI of India Women’s tour of Australia, which is scheduled to be played on March 1, 2026, has been shifted from Melbourne to the Bellerive Oval in Hobart due to a delay in the installation of the new floodlights at the Junction Oval and the tight scheduling of the series. This technical issue has made the chances of a day/night fixture  impractical since there is only a one-day gap between the second and third 50-over game.
While Australian women are set to start their tour of India on Sunday, ahead of the Women’s ODI World Cup that will begin from September 30 in India and Sri Lanka, the India Women are also scheduled to tour Australia next season. The series Down Under will include three ODIs and T20Is each, and one Test match, starting from February 15, 2026. However, there is a slight change in the plans for the upcoming series as Cricket Australia (CA)’s head of cricket operations and scheduling, Peter Roach, recently released a statement expressing his disappointment and gave the reasons for the sudden change of venue.
“We are disappointed we have had to move this match from Junction Oval and that there will be no women's international match in Melbourne this season. We anticipated the Junction Oval lights would be installed several weeks before this fixture and were looking forward to celebrating the first international match under lights at the ground,” Roach said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.
Here is the updated schedule for India Women's upcoming tour of Australia, which will also be their first away series of the 2026 season:
Sun, 15 Feb 2026 :1st T20I (N), Sydney
Thu, 19 Feb 2026: 2nd T20I (N), Canberra
Sat, 21 Feb 2026: 3rd T20I (N), Adelaide
Tues, 24 Feb 2026: 1st ODI (D/N), Brisbane
Fri, 27 Feb 2026: 2nd ODI (D/N), Hobart
Sun, 01 Mar 2026: 3rd ODI (D/N), Hobart
Fri, 06 Mar- 09 Mar 2026: Only Test (D/N), Perth.
