The era of franchise cricket has been known to build great relations between international cricketers, especially when they represent the same team in the tournaments. An example of this was shown when Kieron Pollard praised his former IPL teammate during a CPL match in Trinidad.

‌The last game of the Caribbean Premier League was a redemption moment for defending champions St Lucia Kings, who avenged their earlier loss against the Trinbago Knight Riders with a dominant seven-wicket win. Though it was the bowlers who stole the show at the Brian Lara Stadium, some incredible and explosive shots were witnessed during the game as well. One of the shots came from the bat of Tim David, who once again showed his power with a quickfire cameo of 17 off just 10 balls, which included two massive sixes. However, apart from his teammates, there was an opposition player who also celebrated one of his big hits.
The player was none other than Kieron Pollard, who was stationed at first slip in the tenth over, which was bowled by Sunil Narine. It was the last ball of the over, which the legendary mystery spinner had tossed up on middle and leg, only for David to clear his front leg and smack him over wide long on. Pollard, who has not only shared a dressing room with the powerful Aussie batter but was also his batting coach in the IPL, applauded the shot while David replied with a calm smile towards his former Mumbai Indians batting coach. This was a great moment shared between a teacher and a student in the franchise league.
