Thrissur Titans defeated the Calicut Globstars by four wickets in the last league match of the ongoing Kerala Cricket League 2025. Anand Krishnan’s sensational knock of 60 runs off just 34 balls helped the Titans chase the target comfortably in 18.1 overs, with 11 balls to spare.

Thrissur Titans won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Calicut Globstars’ opening pair of Ameersha SN and Rohan Kunnumal stitched a blistering opening partnership of 67 runs in 7.3 overs. This brilliant opening partnership came to an end when Sarath Prasad dismissed Kunnumal, getting him caught by Amal Ramesh. Kunnumal scored 40 runs off just 26 balls, with seven fours. His departure was followed by a quick dismissal of Preethish Pawan (4) after adding just four runs to the team score. In another quick succession, the Globstars lost wickets consecutively at 89 runs. It happened when Akhil Scaria (4) was dismissed by Sibin Gireesh, followed by Ameersha SN’s (38 runs off 29 balls) dismissal in the next over. Just after an addition of only six runs, Amal Ramesh dismissed P Anfal (5). Maruthungal Aijnas also failed to live up to the expectations and scored only five runs off five balls, with one four. After a fall of wickets at regular intervals. The lower-middle order pair of Suresh Sachin and Krishna Devan stitched a crucial 54-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Sachin scored 32 runs off 27 balls, with two fours and two sixes, alongside Devan’s 26 runs off just 14 balls, with three fours and a six. These contributions took Globstars’ score to 165/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Sarath Prasad, Sibin Gireesh, and Amal Ramesh picked two wickets each for the Titans.

The Titans faced an early blow in their run chase, losing Ahammed Imran (1), at the team score of 20 runs in just 1.4 overs. Following this early dismissal, Anand Krishnan and skipper Shoun Roger stitched a brilliant partnership of 48 runs for the second wicket. Roger smashed swashbuckling 34 runs off just 15 balls, with three fours and three sixes, to take the team’s score to 68 in just 5.2 overs, when his knock came to an end. Akhil Devil dismissed Roger, getting him caught by Krishna Devan. His dismissal was followed by Akshay Manohar’s departure at the individual score of just five runs off four balls, with one four. Following this dismissal, Anand Krishnan and Aju Paulose added 36 runs for the fourth wicket before Anand’s valiant knock came to an end, scoring 60 runs off just 34 balls. He smashed three fours and five sixes. Aju Paulose also scored 44 runs off 35 balls, with one four and three sixes. Later, Sibin Gireesh also contributed with 15 runs off 14 balls, with a six. These contributions helped the Titans cross the line in 18.1 overs, scoring 169/6. With this win, the Titans finished their league stage campaign in second spot in the tournament’s points table.

Anand Krishnan won the ‘Player of the Match’ for his match-winning and fiery knock of 60 runs off just 34 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes. His knock and some crucial partnerships played a central role in the Titans’ four-wicket win over Globstars.
