Purani Delhi 6 will take on the North Delhi Strikers in the 16th fixture of the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on August 10. PD6 will be eyeing reaching the third spot in the tournament’s point table, while the Strikers will aim to register their second win.
Purani Delhi 6’s DPL 2025 campaign started with a massive 82-run defeat against the Outer Delhi Warriors in the tournament’s sixth game. ODW posted a total of 148 runs in the allotted 20 overs, in response to which PD6 were bundled out at the score of just 66 runs in 14.3 overs. After this crushing defeat, Bedi and Co. made a commendable comeback in their second game with a 15-run win against the West Delhi Lions. Purani Delhi scored 186/6 in the first innings, which they successfully defended by restricting the Lions to the score of 171/8 in the entire 20 overs. In their most recent game on Friday, PD6 faced the New Delhi Tigers in the tournament’s 13th game. Samarth Seth (80) and Pranav Pant (46), alongside Vansh Bedi (31), helped PD6 to post a big total of 200/6 in the first innings. While defending the target, the PD6 bowlers stopped the Tigers at the score of 190/7 in the entire 20 overs.
On the other hand, the North Delhi Strikers’ campaign started with a huge eight-wicket defeat against the table toppers, the Central Delhi Kings. The Strikers scored 174/7 in the first innings, and the Kings chased it successfully in just 17.3 overs, scoring 177/2. In their previous game against the Outer Delhi Warriors, Rana’s men defeated the Warriors by 19 runs to register their first win in the tournament.

PD6 gained a brilliant form after a big defeat in their campaign opener. They are coming off two successive wins in their last two games. They will aim to win this game and strengthen their contention for the playoffs.
NDS: L W
North Delhi Strikers have had a mixed kind of journey in the tournament’s current edition. After an eight-wicket loss in their first game, the Strikers opened their account in the tournament with a 15-run win against the Outer Delhi Warriors.
Purani Delhi 6 and North Delhi Strikers faced each other on two occasions last year in DPL 2024, in the 11th and 17th games, respectively. PD6 won both games by the margins of six wickets and 20 runs. They will aim to continue their dominance in this head-to-head rivalry against the Strikers, while Harshit Rana’s men will look ahead to registering their first win against PD6 in the head-to-head clash.
The surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is known for its batting-friendly nature, especially in the second innings during the ongoing DPL 2025 so far. The team batting second has won a lot of matches in the games played so far, while the team batting first has won only a few matches. So, the toss-winning skipper might opt to bowl first and chase under the batting-friendly conditions.
The weather in Delhi on Sunday will be cloudy, with the minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius. The minimal rain interruptions might also be there during the game, taking two abandoned games of Saturday into account.
PD6 are coming off a brilliant 10-run win in their previous game, so they might go ahead with the same playing XI against the Strikers, considering their winning combination of the last two games.
Similarly, there are very low chances of the North Delhi Strikers making any change in their playing XI. They are also likely to go with the unchanged playing XI in this game against PD6.
PD6 Probable XI: Samarth Seth, Aarush Malhotra (wk), Vansh Bedi (c), Pranav Pant, Dev Lakra, Lalit Yadav, Ekansh Dobal, Yug Gupta, Rajneesh Dadar, Udhav Mohan, and Pardeep Parashar.
NDS Probable XI: Sarthak Ranjan, Vaibhav Kandpal, Yajas Sharma, Arnav Bugga, Arjun Rapria, Yash Bhatia, Harshit Rana (c), Pranav Rajuvanshi (wk), Vikas Dixit, Siddhant Bansal, Kuldip Yadav.
Delhi Premier League 2025’s 16th game, between Purani Delhi 6 and North Delhi Strikers, will be streamed live on JioHotstar and the FanCode app. For television viewers, it will be live on the Star Sports Network.
