Match Report

After being asked to bat first, CDK’s opening pair of Siddharth Joon and Yash Dhull smashed 49 runs in just 5.5 overs to give their side a blistering start. Their partnership included some spectacular shots by Yash Dhull as he smashed a few crucial boundaries in the off-side region, especially punishing the short balls. This partnership ended when Joon’s brief support came to an end after getting dismissed by Siddhant Sharma in the sixth over. Dhull continued hitting and went on to score 42 runs off 31 balls, hitting six fours and a six. He also stitched a 21-run partnership with Jonty Sidhu (17) before the latter misjudged a short across the line and lost his wicket to Harsh Tyagi in the ninth over. Following Sidhu’s departure, the Kings lost Aditya Bhandari (8) and well-settled Yash Dhull. Furthermore, Yugal Saini’s late burst of 31 runs off just 20 balls helped CDK post 167/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Outer Delhi Warriors faced an early blow when Sanat Sangwan (9) edged Simarjeet Singh’s ball towards the slip cordon on the first ball of the fourth over. Priyansh Arya and Mohit Panwar took charge and stitched a quick partnership of 41 runs off just 27 balls for the second wicket. Arya’s five fours and a six to score 38 runs off 27 balls stabilised the Warriors’ innings before he was caught behind off Money Grewal in the eighth over. Panwar stayed there to stitch a 34-run partnership with Shivam Sharma (18) for the third wicket. Panwar’s game-defining knock of 46 runs off 32 balls, with six fours and a six, was ended by Simarjeet Singh in the 15th over. Dhruv Singh’s late attack of an unbeaten 33 runs off just 18 balls, with three fours and two sixes, helped the Outer Delhi Warriors chase the target in 19.3 overs, scoring 168/6. With this win, the Outer Delhi Warriors handed the Kings their first defeat in the tournament’s current edition.
