Pakistan beat West Indies by 14 runs in the first T20I of the three-match series in Lauderhill, Florida. Opener Saim Ayub impressed with an all-round show, scoring a half-century and picking up two wickets, while left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz bowled a miserly spell, taking three wickets.
Put into bat first at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Ayub hit five fours and two sixes during his knock of 57 off 38 balls to guide the visitors to 178/6 in 20 overs. Hasan Nawaz (24) and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf (15) chipped in with quick cameos as wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris finished the innings in style with a last-ball six. Pacer Shamar Joseph was the pick among the Windies bowlers with a spell of 3/30 in four overs.
Chasing 179, the West Indies had a decent start before struggling against the spin duo of Nawaz and Sufiyan Muqeem. Though the openers Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew jointly scored 35 runs each, the pair struggled to find boundaries after the powerplay, slipping from 72/0 to 110/7 in a matter of five overs between 11 and 16. Jason Holder (30 off 12) and Joseph (21 off 12) added an unbeaten 54 for the eighth wicket in just 23 balls, but that just delayed the inevitable as the hosts’ innings ended at 164/7. Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz picked up 3/23 in four overs, while Ayub had figures of 2/20.

Yeah!
Pakistan is back in match but it's not over for West Indies too

Loss for WI!
The depleted Windies added another home loss and are still under the hangover of their match against Australia, even though they are playing against Pakistan. 😝

Weak!
For me the bowling of Pakistan is still weak. We can't rely on Faheem against quality opposition.

Great !
Great to see Shaheen Shah Afridi back in rhythm! 🌪️🔥 Bowled with intent and control in the 1st T20 vs West Indies — 4-0-27-1, economy under 7. Set the tone early and dismissed Chase at a crucial time. Leading the attack like a true spearhead! 💚🇵🇰
