For all the cricketing legacy that Bengaluru has, their greatest moment in modern times was arguably the crowning of the RCB Women in WPL 2024. It was no surprise then that a crucial member of the team, Richa Ghosh, was welcomed with roaring chants as she spectated the Duleep Trophy.

India A finally managed to fold out India B for 321 in the second session of Day 2 after a resilient double century stand between Musheer Khan and Navdeep Saini etched their names in the history books. Skipper Shubman Gill and veteran Mayank Agarwal walked out to bat to begin the second innings of the match but while they went about their business, all the attention from the crowd switched to the stands where Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, and Yastika Bhatia were in attendance and the inevitable followed.

The Indian trio was at the National Cricket Academy for the Indian team preparatory camp ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup beginning October 3 and had briefly come over to the adjacent M Chinnaswamy Stadium to catch the live action. As soon as their faces were broadcast on the big screen, a cheer rang out amongst the fans that kept growing in decibels until it culminated in rousing chants of 'RCB, RCB' despite the small crowd. Richa, who was a part of the winning Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad in the Women's Premier League earlier in the year and played a couple of match-winning knocks during the season, immediately flashed a wide smile while her national teammates and franchise rivals remained stoic.

Some banter seemed to ensure amidst the trio thereafter and Twitter was quick to fill in imaginary details for the same.
