‌IPL 2024 | Twitter stunned by Krunal’s outlandish bumper post-hattrick of sixes from 22-year-old debutant

The pressure of performance in the big stages is not an easy task. But the vicious assault from debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk against the LSG bowlers spurred doubt in the mind of Krunal Pandya, leading to a weird bouncer after getting smoked for a hat-trick of sixes in the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.

The chase of 168 runs target on a tricky Lucknow surface did not begin in a rosy fashion for the Delhi Capitals as they lost David Warner in the fourth over. However, the introduction of Jake Fraser-McGurk neutralised the setback with the young gun announcing his IPL career with a six. As he steered the tourists towards a victory with flamboyant strokeplay, it forced Krunal to opt for an outlandish bouncer to curb Fraser-McGurk.

With Pant and Fraser-McGurk clobbering the LSG bowlers after the halfway mark, Krunal Pandya was welcomed with three back-to-back sixes from the Aussie young gun. He clubbed the first delivery of the 14th over towards cow corner, followed by a half-volley over deep cover, and the third six, a length ball, marooned over long-on with a ferocious baseball swing. Feeling the heat from a 22-year-old debutant, the finger spinner was forced to try an out-of-the-box delivery where an attempted bumper went horribly wrong, resulting in Rahul grabbing the ball like a hockey goalkeeper after it marooned over the batter.
