In cricket, small things can make massive differences and have a huge impact on the outcome. It is often said that teams with better strategies often have the upper-hand and one such instance was witnessed in the India vs West Indies game, where Kohli and Chahal laid a perfect trap for Holder.

India got the better of West Indies comprehensively by registering a 125-run win and acquired the second spot in the points table. After posting a fighting total of 268, India needed to strike regularly, which their bowlers did with perfection. India’s clinical bowling display not only saw West Indies crash out of the tournament but also put the Men in Blue one win away from sealing a semi-final spot.

One of the highlights of the game was Virat Kohli’s astute planning and Yuzvendra Chahal’s execution to entrap West Indies skipper Jason Holder. In the 24th over, Kohli had a conversation with Chahal just before the fifth delivery, which got the better of Holder. Kohli was seen asking Chahal to flight the ball to Holder and let the batsman go for the drive.

The field was smartly placed as per Kohli’s planning but it still needed execution from the leggie, and he didn’t disappoint. Chahal tossed the ball up and Holder couldn’t resist from playing the drive, which ended in the safe hands of Kedar Jadhav, who was standing in the edge of the 30-yard circle at cover. The plan worked really well and there were no stopping to the duo’s happiness as West Indies were left reeling at 98 for 5.
