VIDEO | Horrible mix-up coinciding with Aaron Finch’s brilliance result in Soumya Sarkar’s fall

This World Cup is witnessing a lot of mix-ups while running between the wickets and yet another instance piqued the interests during the encounter between Bangladesh and Australia. Soumya Sarkar fell short of his crease after a horrible mix-up and Aaron Finch did well to hit the stumps from mid-on.

Bangladesh had a mountain to climb while chasing such a mammoth total of 382 against an intimidating Australian attack. They needed a solid start from the openers, which also demanded rotation of strike more often than not. Both the Bangladeshi openers started off positively and were negotiating the Australian attack with caution and calculated aggression.

On the fifth delivery of the fourth over, Tamim nudged a length delivery towards the left of mid-on, where Aaron Finch was stationed. Both the players started off for a single but decided to go back mid-way, which gave enough time to the Australian skipper, who already collected the ball, to take a calculated shire at the stumps. It was a terrible mix-up between the two and a direct hit was all that needed to send Sarkar packing and Finch hit the bull’s eye.

Finch had just two stumps to aim at, but the extra second helped him go for a better throw. This effort gave the perfect start to Australia and it would be interesting to see how heavily this will cost Bangladesh.
