Steve Waugh: Virat Kohli will break all batting records except Bradman's average

Steve Waugh has backed Virat Kohli to smash all the existing batting records in international cricket barring one, Don Bradman's average of 99.94 in Test cricket. Most recently, the Indian captain became the fifth Indian batsman to surpass the 10,000-run mark in just 205 innings.
Virat Kohli has been in staggering form all throughout 2018 in all competitions and showed no signs of slowing down in recent months. Kohli recently scored three back-to-back ODI centuries in the recent series against West Indies on home soil. And if things continue to stand as they are now, former Australian cricketer Steve Waugh said that the 30-year old Indian will break all the batting records in international cricket except Don Bradman’s average of 99.94 in Test cricket.
"He's (Virat Kohli) got the passion and hunger, the fitness, the desire, the intensity and he loves playing the game. Unless he gets seriously injured, I think he'll break all the batting records barring Bradman's average," Waugh told Cricket Australia.
Kohli was on the receiving end of praise from former cricketers Shoaib Akhtar, Sunil Gavaskar and others. He has been constantly compared to Sachin Tendulkar in recent times, especially after the RCB cricketer recently became the fifth Indian batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs. He crossed the barrier in just 205 innings which made him the fastest to do so.
Apart from Kohli, the other four Indians in the 10K club are Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni. Kohli is also the second-highest century getter in ODIs. The Indian batsman has a total of 38 centuries under his belt.
