Adam Gilchrist has compared Virat Kohli's mental strength to sporting legends Shane Warne, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Michael Jordan. Gilchrist also stated that the Indian captain possesses a tremendous ability to analyse any situation and make improvements accordingly.

India will take on hosts Australia in the first Test match of the four match Test series at the Adelaide Oval tomorrow. Many former and current players have voiced their opinions about the upcoming series and various aspects of the same. Former Australia Wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist has come forward and said that all sporting champions possess one thing in common and that is a strong mind.

“It’s an understatement to say the greats in any sport have tremendous mental strength. It’s their most potent weapon. Shane Warne, Roger Federer and Serena Williams, Michael Jordan. All are in possession of a sports person's greatest ally, a strong mind. Better than any magical flipper. Far more powerful than a brilliant backhand or ability to hit buzzer-beating three-pointers,” wrote Gilchrist.

Gilchrist seemed to make the comment in reference to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is in a ravishing form and at the peak of his batting career. Kohli also has a very good batting record in Australia as he has scored 692 runs in the last Test series he played in Australia.

“The ability to analyse what has just happened, identify areas for change to gain improvement and then most significantly banish the incident to the past, has seen all these champions be, well, just that, champions,” wrote Gilchrist.

After the four match Test series, Australia will also host the Indian team for a three match ODI series which will conclude the Indian Tour of Australia.
