India Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has been advised by national coach Anil Kumble to skip the next two matches for his state team Bengal in the Ranji Trophy in order to be fresh for the November Test series against England.

Saha, who scored two crucial half-centuries in the second Test at the Eden Gardens, had kept wickets for more than 452 overs during India's 3-0 Test series sweep of New Zealand.

"I have been informed that chief coach Anil Kumble has advised Wriddhiman to take rest after three back-to-back Test matches. He is not expected to play in the first two Ranji Trophy games for Bengal," Manoj Tiwary, Bengal's captain, was quoted as saying by PTI news agency on Wednesday ahead of the match against Uttar Pradesh in Jaipur.

"He has had a lot of workload and with the England Test matches coming up, it is only fair that he gets adequate rest," the Bengal skipper added.

Saha, however, is expected to turn out for Bengal in the Ranji match against Railways from Oct 27 to 30 after skipping the games against UP and Punjab in order to gain match practice ahead of the five- Test series at home against England starting on November 9.
