It is not pleasant viewing : Alastair Cook on Pakistan’s push-up celebrations

Similar to skipper Misbah-ul-Haq’s celebration after scoring a Test century on the first day, Pakistan team lined-up on the outfield after the securing the win and did salutes and push-ups in honour of the soldiers, who trained them during a pre-tour camp back home.

The cricketing world went gaga over the celebrations, but England skipper Alastair Cook, who ended up on the wrong side of the result, was not impressed.

“It’s never nice to lose at Lord’s and see the opposition like they were at the end,’ he said. ‘We’ll use that as motivation,” said Cook, reported Daily Mail.

“I didn’t take offence, but certainly at that moment in time it’s not pleasant for the first 20 minutes when you’ve just lost a game of cricket. They’re entitled to do what they want. Obviously, it’s united them and it shows what a challenge we’ve got in the next game. But the cricketing gods…”

Although Cook said that he did not take any offence to the celebration, one man that did was Tim Bresnan, one of England's Ashes-winners on the 2010-11 tour of Australia. He took to Twitter to warn the Pakistan players that they push-ups might come back to "bite" Pakistan, similar to how England’s infamous ‘Sprinkler’ celebration in Ashes 2010-11 riled the Australians.
