Don't think India will boycott Champions Trophy clash against us, says PCB's Najam Sethi

Najam Sethi is confident that India will not avoid playing against Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy. Although he does not see the two countries playing a bilateral series in the coming year, the senior PCB official said Pakistan would only play India at a neutral venue of their own choice.
“I don't think it will happen because of the current scenario which will take time to change. But I also don't think India will avoid playing us in the Champions Trophy next year in England,” Pakistan Cricket Board’s executive committee head Sethi told PTI news agency.
“But we will only agree to not playing on Indian soil. But if for example, India agrees to matches with us on a neutral venue of our choice, which we host, then we will play them. They will have to play against us at a venue of our choice as we will be hosting any such series,” he added.
BCCI has said India will not play Pakistan in the scheduled group stage match in the 2017 Champions Trophy.
“Look if there is no India and Pakistan match in an ICC event, then financially it will hurt everyone including the ICC and I don't see that happening since both countries get shares from the world body,” he said.
Asked about the expected meeting between the BCCI and PCB officials on the sidelines of the Asian Cricket Council meeting in Colombo on Dec 17, Sethi said the PCB would try to ensure constructive talks, but admitted that the situation was not ideal for matches.
