Tamil Thalaivas appointed ₹2.26 crore signing Pawan Sehrawat as captain and Arjun Deshwal as vice-captain for PKL Season 12. Sehrawat, a 2019 South Asian Games and 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship gold medallist, and Deshwal, a 2022 Asian Games winner, form a strong leadership duo as the team unveiled its new blue-and-gold kit.
As the Pro Kabaddi League gears up for Season 12, Tamil Thalaivas have named star raider Pawan Sehrawat as captain and Arjun Deshwal as vice-captain, signalling a fresh push for the title. Sehrawat, nicknamed the “Hi-flyer,” is regarded as one of PKL’s most dynamic players and became the league’s most expensive signing when Tamil Thalaivas bought him for ₹2.26 crore in Season 9.
His career highlights include winning gold for India at the 2019 South Asian Games and the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship. Head coach Sanjeev Balyan praised Sehrawat’s leadership, resilience under pressure, and match-winning abilities, calling him the ideal figure to lead the side. Supporting him is Arjun Deshwal, a prolific raider from Uttar Pradesh and current DSP in the state police. Deshwal captained Jaipur Pink Panthers in the past and won gold with India at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Balyan lauded Deshwal’s discipline, composure, and leadership on and off the mat, confident that together the pair form a strong leadership unit. Alongside the leadership announcement, Tamil Thalaivas unveiled their Season 12 kit, an all-blue design with bold gold accents symbolizing their ultimate goal, winning the league’s biggest prize.
