Kylian Mbappe has backed Arsenal to finally win the Premier League this season despite calling Liverpool the favourites. The Gunners, runners-up for three straight years, spent over £250 million this summer to strengthen their squad. Mbappe, impressed by Arsenal’s consistency and core under Mikel Arteta, believes 2025 could end their 22-year league title drought.
After the latest round of Premier League action, Kylian Mbappe has shared his title prediction, suggesting that Arsenal could finally end their 22-year wait for the league crown. Speaking to Bild, the Real Madrid superstar admitted Liverpool remain the strongest contenders, especially given their relentless pursuit of trophies, but he insisted that Arsenal’s long-standing core and consistency make them well placed to challenge this season.
Arsenal have finished second in each of the past three campaigns, twice behind Manchester City and once behind Liverpool, and have invested over £250 million in new signings this summer to strengthen their push. Their title bid suffered a setback with a 2-1 defeat at Anfield, where Dominik Szoboszlai scored a decisive wonder strike, yet Mbappe still believes Mikel Arteta’s side has the quality to go all the way.
The French striker has first-hand experience of Arsenal’s progress, having faced them in last season’s Champions League quarter-final, where the Gunners eliminated Real Madrid with a 5-1 aggregate win. Although Arsenal fell to PSG in the semi-finals, Arteta has kept faith in the same core group. The Gunners will look to rebound quickly when they host Nottingham Forest before starting their Champions League campaign against Athletic Club.
