United had earlier tabled bids of up to £55 million plus add-ons for Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals and assisted eight in the Premier League last season. However, Brentford are holding firm at £65 million, prompting United to explore alternatives.

With his Transfermarkt value down to £21 million, United are believed to have offered €30 million (around £26 million) plus €5 million in add-ons.
