Everton are set to sign 19-year-old Southampton winger Tyler Dibling for a package worth around £40m. The teenager is due for a medical after earlier bids, including one of £37.5m, were rejected. If confirmed, he will be David Moyes’ eighth summer signing, joining the likes of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

For the second time this summer, Everton appear to have succeeded in their pursuit of a young attacking talent, with Southampton’s Tyler Dibling now close to sealing a move. The 19 year old winger is set to undergo a medical after both clubs moved towards an agreement for a deal believed to be worth around £40 million. Everton had previously seen three offers rejected, including a final bid valued at up to £37.5 million, before shifting focus to other options such as Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu.

However, fresh negotiations last week have revived talks, with Southampton eventually showing a willingness to compromise. Dibling, an England youth international, had been left out of Southampton’s opening two fixtures amid uncertainty over his future but was recalled to the squad once Everton initially backed away. Now, with advanced discussions ongoing, he could become Everton’s eighth signing of a busy summer transfer window under manager David Moyes.

The Blues have already strengthened with the arrivals of Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carlos Alcaraz, Mark Travers, Tom King, Adam Aznou and Thierno Barry. Moyes confirmed after Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton that progress was being made, and he remains hopeful of adding further reinforcements before the transfer deadline.
