Manchester United’s Toby Collyer is close to joining West Brom on loan, while Harry Amass is likely to move to Sheffield Wednesday after their transfer embargo was lifted. Both Championship clubs aim to register the players before Friday noon so they can debut this weekend against Wrexham and Stoke City, respectively.
When the Premier League returns this weekend, Manchester United could see movement not only at Old Trafford but also away from it, with two young players nearing loan exits. Midfielder Toby Collyer is close to joining West Bromwich Albion, who have beaten several Championship clubs to secure the 21-year-old. Left-back Harry Amass is expected to join Sheffield Wednesday, now free to sign players after a transfer embargo was lifted.
Both deals need to be completed by 12 pm on Friday for them to feature in this weekend’s Championship fixtures. If finalised in time, Collyer could debut for West Brom against Wrexham on Saturday at 12.30 pm, while Amass would face Stoke City at Hillsborough at 3 pm. These moves follow earlier loans for Daniel Gore and Ethan Wheatley, who have already featured for their EFL clubs.
United, meanwhile, begin their league campaign at home to Arsenal on Sunday at 4.30 pm, with summer signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko potentially making their debuts, alongside 18-year-old Diego Leon, signed in January. With incoming and outgoing transfers aligning, United’s squad is taking shape under the new season’s demands, balancing first-team readiness with providing valuable match experience to their promising academy talents.
