England U19 vs India U19 Chance of Winning
England Under-19s were humbled in the opening match as they came out second best in all departments. The toss was the only thing they won on the day and after opting to bat first, they played second fiddle to the Indians all day long. The powerplay gave them a platform to build on, but the introduction of spin killed their momentum as they were bowled out for just 174.
India U19 chased the sub-par target set by England with relative ease, but they ensured there were some fireworks on display for the fans. The talk of the entire cricketing community, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, showed his talent with an explosive 48-run knock to lead India’s chase. He was supported well by Abhigyan Kundu as India made quick work of the target and wrapped up the match prematurely, as they will aim to do with the series as well.

England U19 vs India U19 Prediction & Betting Tips 2025
The first game saw a low-scoring encounter, largely thanks to Kanishk Chouhan restricting the English batsmen. However, the hosts’ top order showed that they can navigate the Indian bowlers, especially the pacers, well. The visitors were at their absolute best with the bat, chasing the target down in just 24 overs and with 6 wickets to spare. Hence, we’re expecting both teams’ batters to shine in a batting-friendly wicket in Northampton.
We have our eye on the opening batsmen of both teams, especially Suryavanshi and Isaac Mohammed. The two players batted without fear in the opening match and with the pitch conditions even better for the batsmen in Northampton, we’re expecting both the openers to go big.

England U19 vs India U19 Match Toss Prediction
In four games played at the venue in under-19 cricket, teams batting first have won twice while losing as many games. Interestingly, the toss has played a key role in each of those games as the team that has won the toss has gone on to win the game as well. With it being a batting-friendly wicket, we’re expecting the captain that wins the toss to opt to bat first.
Weather Report
The clouds are expected to steer clear on matchday in Northampton, but the winds are likely to pick up as the match progresses. The temperature is also expected to pick up as the match goes on with the mercury likely to hover between 22 and 32 degrees celsius.

Expect runs in the powerplay overs
Both teams’ top order performed in the first game. While England couldn’t build on the platform laid by the top order, they gave ample evidence for the talent they possess. Isaac Mohammed and Rocky Flintoff, son of the legendary all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, scored the bulk of the team’s runs in the series opener. For the visitors, captain Ayush Mhatre is expected to deliver for the team and join Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhigyan Kundu among the top run scorers in England.
The first match saw just three wickets fall in the opening 10 overs for both teams and we’re not expecting that to rise in Northampton. Hence, we’re backing the powerplay overs to go in favour of the batsmen.

England U19 vs India U19 Top Batters
Isaac Mohammed to be England U19’s top batter
Isaac Mohammed made his debut for the English youth team in the opening match, but did not look out of place at all. The opener was at his devastating best, scoring a brisk 42 in just 28 balls. He punished the Indian opening bowlers with Yudhajit Guha the recipient of his ire. We’re backing the 17-year-old to put up another impressive knock in the second game.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi to be India U19’s top batter
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi played without fear and batted at a strike rate of over 250! The opening batter smashed five sixes and hit three fours to help the visitors chase the target down in less than half of the overs they had. We’re expecting the left-hander to continue his fine form once again.
England U19 vs India U19 Top Bowlers
James Minto to be England U19’s top bowler
The first ODI of the series was the first time that medium pacer James Minto returned home empty handed. The 17-year-old, however, looked good, bowling a maiden in his four overs despite facing the on-fire Indian openers. While he drew a blank in his fourth appearance, we’re expecting the left-armer to be among the wickets once again.
Kanishk Chouhan to be India U19’s top bowler
Off spinner Kanishk Chouhan spun a web around the English batsmen in the first ODI. In his quota of 10 overs, the debutant took 3 wickets while conceding just 20 runs. With a batting-friendly wicket in store for the second ODI, India will be relying on Chouhan to restrict the hosts’ batting unit.
