Asia Cup 2025 | Twitter trolls Hong Kong after comedy of errors costs skipper Yasim Murtaza his wicket

SportsCafe Desk

‌Run outs are one of the most embarrassing forms of dismissals in the game of cricket as some are the result of poor communication between the batters. A similar dismissal was seen in the Asia Cup game between Bangladesh and Hong Kong as it ended the innings of Hong Kong skipper Yasim Murtaza.

comedy of errors between Murtaza and Nzakat Khan

The third game between Hong Kong and Bangladesh has been a struggle for the Hong Kong batters, who have been struggling against the Bangladesh bowling attack throughout the game. The associate nation was struggling on a score of 89/4 after 14 overs until Hong Kong skipper Yasim Murtaza came to the crease and got a few shots away and was looking good on a score of 28 off 19 deliveries until his flamboyant knock came to an end in one of the most embarrassing ways.

The incident took place on the first delivery of the 18th over, which was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman. The batter on strike was Nizakat Khan, who was struggling to time the ball at the other end. As the batter had struck the ball straight into the hands of the cover fielder, the Hong Kong captain ran halfway down the pitch and was easily run out from as he was caught miles outside his crease at the non-striker's end.  This was a huge example of terrible running between the wickets, which cost a big blow to the team towards the backend of their innings.
