Twitter in awe as Digvesh Rathi’s five-out-of-five heroics before IPL 2025 goes viral

‌Digvesh Rathi was one of the most talked about players during the Indian Premier League 2025 campaign. His first stint in the tournament with Lucknow Super Giants was a successful one with the mystery spinner bagging 14 wickets from 13 matches at an impressive economy of 8.25.

Digvesh was always in the limelight not only for his excellent performances but also for his exaggerated celebrations after picking up his dismissals. The bowler used to give send-offs to the batters with his trademark notebook celebration and with the BCCI handing a warning he mellowed down his antics but continued signing the turf after picking up wickets. And his altercation with Abhishek Sharma during an IPL game also led to him being suspended in the next match.

The mystery spinner is in the news again with his unbelievable spell in a local T20 League match that took place before IPL 2025, something that may have prompted the franchise owners to steal him at his base price of INR 30 Lakhs in the auctions last year. Digvesh is seen bamboozling batters with his unbelievable googlies picking up five wickets in five balls.

Having already picked up two wickets in the game, the spinner came on to bowl his final over with the batting side needing 113 in the last six overs. In the very first ball, he goes through the gate with a flighted wrong one. In a repeat of the first dismissal, he once again castled the new batter, who looked clueless as he started his walk back.

Pulling the length a bit shorter he bowled another googly that hit the batter’s pad before ricocheting onto the stumps for his hat trick. He did not stop there as he went around the stumps for the left-hander and went past his defence to make it four in four balls.

With four bowled dismissals, he changed the pattern the next ball to trap the last man in front of the stumps to signal the end of the innings. Digvesh ended with unbelievable figures of 7/28 in 3.5 overs to power his team to a 112-run win.
