ZIM vs SA | Brevis smashes Raza out of the park in Harare

SportsCafe Desk

Big sixes are always one of the biggest attractions in cricket, no matter what the format is. One of the biggest sixes came from the bat of South Africa Batter Dewald Brevis in the opening game of the Zimbabwe T20I Tri-series at the Harare Sports Club against the host nation.

‌South Africa was set a target of 142 in the opening game of the series against Zimbabwe and did not have the best of starts while chasing as the Proteas had lost three wickets for just 38 runs in the powerplay. However, the partnership between Dewald Brevis and Rubin Hermann got the Rainbow Nation back into the game as the duo put on 72 off 37 deliveries for the fourth wicket.

It was Brevis who started to counter-attack the bowling, playing an iconic knock of 41 off just 17 deliveries, which included one boundary and five humongous sixes. One of the most iconic sixes came in the eighth over off the bowling of Chevron’s skipper Sikandar Raza, where the 22-year-old prodigy gave himself room and just slapped the slightly shorter delivery straight down the ground as the ball sailed out of the ground and over the roof.

This was a shot that showed the class and power of the young cricketer.

What a shot!

Boy that's hugeeee!

Blud is not holding back!

Fast!

That's how T20I cricket is played!

That was good knock!

Yeah!
