A stunning catch near the boundary line is one of the fascinating skills a fielder can execute to showcase their amazing abilities. A similar kind of brilliant catch was taken by the Manchester Originals Women’s Fi Morris against the Northern Superchargers Women’s to dismiss Phoebe Litchfield.

Northern Superchargers Women’s skipper Hollie Armitage won the toss and asked the Manchester Originals Women to bat first. The Originals posted 117/5 in the allotted 100 balls, courtesy of Deandra Dottin’s unbeaten 51 runs off just 26 balls, with six fours and three sixes. Kate Cross scalped two wickets, alongside a wicket each picked by Lucy Higham, Annabel Sutherland, and Nicola Carey. While chasing the target, the Superchargers Women lost their first wicket early at the score of 11 runs when Davina Perrin (10) fell prey to Kathryn Bryce. Following Perrin’s departure, Alice Davidson-Richards and Phoebe Litchfield took the charge forward, with some brilliant boundaries.

After a 64-run partnership for the second wicket between Alice and Litchfield, there came a moment on the 61st ball when Litchfield swung it powerfully towards the deep backward square leg off Kathryn Bryce. Morris ran to her right, almost overrunning initially, but she managed to get her hands in the right place near her shoulder with a jump at the right time. She executed a brilliant reverse-cupped catch to dismiss Phoebe Litchfield at the score of 31 runs off 27 balls, with four fours and a six.

Following Litchfield’s dismissal, Alice Davidson also fell prey to a ‘stumped’ dismissal off Amelia Kerr. Later, the middle and lower-order batters failed to take the Northern Superchargers Women home, as they were restricted to a total of 112/7 in the entire 100 balls.
