ENG vs IND | Twitter rolling over the floor after Siraj walks back an eternity later since getting out

Batters getting disappointed after their dismissal is a common sight, but Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj took it to the next level during the Oval Test against England in London on Saturday. He was in shock and remained beside the wicket after being dismissed for a three-ball duck by Josh Tongue.

‌After starting day three of the Oval Test at 75/2, overnight batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep extended their third-wicket stand to 107 runs against England. The night watchman got to his maiden fifty in Test cricket before getting dismissed for 66 at the stroke of lunch.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, continued to gather runs, reaching his sixth Test hundred in the post-lunch session. His 118 off 164 balls, along with Ravindra Jadeja’s valuable half-century, pushed India’s total past the 350-run mark.

But Jadeja’s dismissal to Josh Tongue off the second ball of the 84th over brought Mohammed Siraj to the middle. The pacer managed to keep out two balls from Tongue, and just as he nurtured hopes of facing him off, the England pacer came up with a full and straight delivery which hit him right in front of the stumps.

Siraj failed to walk off even after the umpire had ruled him out as he stood dejected beside the wicket. Just as he tried taking a review, non-striker Washington Sundar reminded him that they have already run out of reviews.

The pacer stood there watching the umpire before slowly walking back after gathering himself and picking up the bat that had dropped out of his hand. Twitter was in splits as Sir Richards was very emotional after getting out for a duck.
