Andy Murray said that he needs to take some rest to keep his body injury free. He has been playing non-stop tennis after his runners-up finish at the French Open in the last European summer.
In the process, the 29-year old British ace has won the Wimbledon Trophy and has defended his Olympic gold as well. Earlier this month, he went down to Japan's Kei Nishikori in the quarter-finals of the U.S. Open.
After his Davis Cup semifinal defeat at the hands of Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro, Murray said, “I have played so much tennis in the last few months, I need a break and I need it now.”
He added, "I knew I was going to be in some pain this weekend and I spoke to my team about that it was going to be really hard. But my expectations were less than what I'm feeling now."
Murray is supposed to play in the China Open, beginning on Oct. 3, followed by the Shanghai Masters
